C.A.T.S.
Using Patrick O’Leary’s system to set expectations.
Concept
A found family struggle with their own monstrous natures and the web of interconnected curses that entangle their fragmented worlds.
Aim
Investigate magical mysteries and shadowy liminalities. If light succeeds, even if only a little, in casting back the darkness, we’re on the right course.
Tone
Black humour, horror and a lens of the mystical and mythical cast over the modern day. Defiance in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
Subject Matter
Magic, supernatural creatures, monsters both mythical and mundane. Horror and ethical choice.
What Sort of Characters Are Available?
In short: Monsters.

The residents of the Witch-House are all Accursed, in some way. They suffer Damnation, but from that same curse, comes power.
The system we’re using is Curseborne from Onyx Path Publishing.

The characters come from different Lineages that all have their own Families. These heritages determine the nature of their curses and, in large part, their relationships to the supernatural demimonde. Whether ties of blood, curses or merely nature, they can often act at odds to the Bonds built with both their found family and the Witch-House itself.
When speaking of Bonds amongst the household, there is more than just a shared residence. When a member of a shared bond is undergoing intense stress or emotion it bleeds across the link allowing all to feel when one is in distress. On the flip side, the highs of joy or victory are also shared, so it’s not all bad, right? These shared highs and lows are far from invasive and they can be ignored but, how many times can you ignore these symbolic links before the Bond breaks entirely? A crew may not like each other, but they generally exhibit mutual respect and recognise how valuable it is to have someone who has your back.
